Symbols of the Soul: Therapy and Guidance Through Fairy Tales

Fairy tales are part of Western culture and history. The last 20 years have seen an increasing interest in the psycho-analytically orientated interpretation of fairy tales. This book focuses on them as a medium for therapy, highlighting their importance on many different levels. The authors show that fairy tales can be used in therapy and guidance in a number of ways. They found that using such stories in their daily work proved beneficial for staff-members and patients alike, generating responsive interest, and attention and sensitivity.
